The name I gave to my photograph is ‘The Author’. I chose this to represent the concept of being the leader in ones actions and choices. Much like authors, we can write our own paths/stories and choose how to display our inner character. The model in the photo is being the author of her own life and writing in the sky the word respect. This is symbolizing the eternal sketch of respect into her lifestyle and actions.
The word respect pops out in red in contrast to the black and white background to not only represent the Red Ribbon Week theme, but to portray the importance our ethics play in daily life. The marker is also highlighted in red to represent the driving force to exceed in treating others and ourselves with dignity. Such basic principles of respect, integrity, open-mindedness, etc. can all be enforced if the individual creates their own story to venture through life in.

Awakening... After being ejected from the Militaries Time Traveling Helicopter, General Smith awoke in a haze. The surrounding area smelled like a jungle once familiar to the General. While barely coming to his senses, he remembered this area being home to the infamous Big Bertha , the vicious Dinosaur thirsty for blood. Smith knows he must recover full consciousness before going off to explore. Stalking the prey... In the distance, beyond the generals knowledge, Big Bertha stalked amongst the huge tree tops. Her appetite grew more immense with each second. She changes positions in the tree to get a better view of the potential meal. Becoming more visible, Bertha maneuvers between leafs to transition into full pounce mode. The General , blissfully ignorant but still in fear, was no match for this surprise attack. Bearing Arms... In a split second the mischievous dinosaur jumped from the skies and tackled the General. Before his instincts could act, Bertha tore the generals arm right off. Shock begins to set in and the General makes the call to go into hiding. His heart was racing as he attempted to fool the beast with a decoy helmet & gear. As soon as Big Bertha finished consuming the ragged arm, her attention drew to the set up. With perfect lock on to the target, the General began preparing for his strike. Demise of Big Bertha Using all the strength the disheveled General could, he chucked his helmet straight for the Dino's head. Within minutes of intense groans and spazzing around the foliage, Big Bertha met her demise. The Generals futuristic strength was able to chuck the helmet at such levels that it could break the sound barrier. The once 'top dog' of this strange jungle was officially dead. The General was still in to much shock to truly evaluate his own condition but knew he must continue on. Victorious... After a deep cleaning and wrapping of his arm, General Smith began to search for his men. His attitude was positive that all dangers in the surrounding area were gone. He ate some food and had a brief rest at various stops along the way. His men finally made contact and assured the general he was only a day or so closer to their location. Once arrived, General Smith claimed there were no more dinosaur threats roaming the jungle. It was a celebration It isn't over just yet... Far from any of the soldiers hearing, screeched high pitch groans and cries. Small leathery paws cracked open colorful egg walls. The legacy of Big Bertha has lived on. With no mother, these tiny dinos feel enraged and ready to attack. The generals celebration will be in for a surprise with these guests.
For this assignment, our class took pictures of three boxes placed behind one another. We took each photo with varying aperture, shutter speed and ISO (captioned below).
